My fashion year

So we’re finally starting 2016. A year which - I hope - will not just make us forget all that happened last year, but maybe will bring us some explanations for the creative turmoil we live in right now (I’d rather not go into the political one on a far larger scale, if you'll excuse me) . For those of us who live surrounded by beauty – whether it is in fashion, design, architecture and especially people – the year to come looks rather phenomenal. I look forward to so many things which I hope will make my life even more heart-throbbing (in a positive way):

These are some of the 'fashion' questions I have:

How will a Dior show be without Raf Simons in the backstage?

Will Armani finally give in to a stylist to ‘pimp’ his fashion shows – so we don’t get too bored…

Is the Cos store yet to arrive in the Brussels’ Dansaert area (even though the fashion crowd there has big issues with chain stores)?

Will the fashion show as such start a new life (as crowd pleaser to an audience that just wants to be part of the fashion world but really isn’t)?

Will Milan fashion week (and especially the Gucci collection) be as interesting as last season?

How will the gender-issue in fashion evolve?

Will there be even more fashion exhibitions in museums that will attract zillions of spectators?

Can we please get rid of sales? (so we all learn to respect clothes again)

Who will be the next Gigi Hadid? (if you don’t know her, google her)

Will Vetements live up to expectations?

Will sustainability not just be something fashion people talk and worry about but also something the audience keeps in mind when buying new outfits?

And of course: who will follow into the footsteps of Raf Simons chez Dior and  Alber Elbaz chez Lanvin? Or is the creative director definitely tob e replaced by the creative team (to skip the worshipping part altogether)

(To be continued)
