In a way he chose a good slot: immediately after the Chanel show, just across the street, in the Petit Palais. But then people have to come and see for themselves if the story is good, and if the clothes tell a story – which by all means is the absolute must nowadays.

What I saw, I liked. Here was a second collection that astonished because of its depth, its craftmanship, and its…well…story: ‘Saison des Amours aux Rayons X’, it was called, and Yacine Aouadi, the couturier with a fashion degree from Studio Berçot in Paris, clearly knew what he was doing. Inspirations? The spirit of the Twenties, Charlotte Rampling in The Damned and a relaxed austerity. Fabrics? Organza, PVC, crystals… and how interesting: Yacine worked with the very well-known ‘plumassier’ Lemarié.
